"Can Someone Pinch Me, Please, So I Know That I Am Not Dreaming?" Tenso CONNECT Experience by Markéta Chumova

In the beginning of March 2025, I took a plane to Amsterdam. I was matched for my TENSO Connect internship with Capella Amsterdam, to work with Daniel Reuss and Krista Audere on a (one might say) signature repertoire of theirs, pieces by Bach and Pärt. Dream come true experience awaiting.

I do not want to sound over-excited but during those 6 days I truly fulfilled one of my dreams. I was singing with an ensemble I would listen to for hours on Spotify, for pleasure or to study with. I have already had the opportunity to personally work with Daniel and Krista and it was, as I expected, once again an amazing experience. But singing with a group of such an incredible singers was just an out of this world experience. The perfect blending, volume, details in text and interpretation. I have never felt so good in any other ensemble or choir before. Everyone was very welcoming and super nice to chat with and apart of that, high-class professional in the work they were doing there.

I have to remind myself every once in a while that the week in Amsterdam really happened! That I got to sing with Capella, to work with Daniel Reuss and Krista Audere, to perform at Muziekgebouw and all of that while working on my favourite composers’ pieces.

For all of that (and much more) I am trully grateful, TENSO Connect.
